Executive Director


Dr. Winograd was named Executive Director of Economic Forum in January 2022. Prior to her selection as Executive Director, Kathie served as the president of Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) from 2007 to 2020. She had been at CNM since 1996 serving as Vice President for Planning and Budget. She also held previous positions at the University of New Mexico, the University of Louisville, and the Kentucky Council on Higher Education.

Dr. Winograd earned her Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New Mexico, her master’s degree from the University of Louisville and her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown (KY) College.

Over the past twenty-five years, Dr. Winograd served on several community and organization boards in New Mexico; was an Ascend Fellow of the Aspen Institute; and on the board of Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Denver Branch. She has received several recognitions over the years for her service to New Mexico including the New Mexico Spirit of Achievement Award (2019), Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Statesmen Award (2018), University of New Mexico Zia (2010) and Rodey Awards (2020), New Mexico First Spirit of Bipartisanship Award (2013), NAIOP 2013 Vision Award, and AREA 505 Lifetime Leadership Award (2023).

Kathie is married to Dr. Peter N. Winograd. Kathie and Peter enjoy fishing, golf, and hiking with their dog Chaco.

Director of Operations


Deborah joined Economic Forum in October 2016 and serves as Director of Operations. Before coming to Forum, she worked for Cabot Corporation for 10 years in their Albuquerque R&D Facility, working for the General Manager as a Sr. Coordinator and researching patent backgrounds. Prior to Cabot, she worked for Desert Hills Psychiatric Hospital and  Residential Treatment Center for 10 years, having served in multiple roles including Milieu Counselor, Risk Manager and Director of Quality Improvement. She specialized in organizational development, acted as the facility’s liaison to CYFD and managed their state licensing and national hospital accreditation.

 Over the past twenty years, she has served the Albuquerque community on several education and art boards, helped coordinate large charity events, and led her company’s Community Outreach Program.

Deborah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico, and studied Biology at New Mexico Tech.

Deborah is a native New Mexican, raised outside the small community town of Socorro, NM on a farm. She has been happily married to her college sweetheart Craig Corey for decades and has two grown sons, Samuel and Benjamin. Deborah enjoys the arts, anything science, golf, cooking, traveling with her family and friends, and volunteering at the local Downtown Grower’s Market.
